Math Assessment Data
In our math class, we are adopting a competency/skill based approach. In this approach we have divided each curricular strand into a series of goals and related skills. As we progress through the material, students will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate the math concept or skill. For some students, they may only reach competency after the formal unit has been completed… and that’s okay! Just like learning to walk, different kids learn at different times. For more information on this philosophy, please read my “Math Assessment Philosophy” page HERE.
Below, you will see a list of my grade 7 math students. Students and parents can click on the appropriate name to access all of their assessment data sorted by strand. I have already shared the forms with individual students via their school email and with parents via the email on file with the school. Parents who would like access to the data using a different account are to submit a request to access the data by clicking on their child’s name and requesting access to the sheet.
View the video (below) to see details on how students and parents can use the data to improve their understanding and how Mr. Fischer will be using the form to guide his teaching. Please note that this video was for grade 5 content but I will be doing the same thing this year for grade 7 and 8.
